חֲרֵי
חֲרֵי‏, חֲרָא ch. sam(חרי, חרהto be hot, to glow). Targ. Ps. 57:5 חָרְיָא Lev. (ed. Lag. חָיְירָא, oth. ed. חָיְרָא fr. חוּר; Ms. דָּיְירָא, v. דּוּר ch.; ed. Wil. חדיא, corr. acc.). Targ. Prov. 17:24 תַרְיָן, quot. in Luzz. Philox. p. 106, glowing (with wisdom).Gitt.69a וליחרו לכלבא, v. נְחַר. Pa. חָרֵי to stir, rake. Ab. Zar.38b ואתא ישראל וחרי חרורי Ar. (prob. חָרוּיֵי; ed. וחתה בה חתויי) and raked the fire. Ḥag.5a top ומְחַרְיָא תנורא and raked the fire in the oven (Rashi: out of the oven).
